Directions
- 1
Prepare the Ingredients
Start by cleaning and cutting the calamari into rings if not already done. Mince the garlic and chop the fresh basil.
- 2
Sauté the Garlic
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant but not browned.
- 3
Cook the Calamari
Add the calamari rings to the skillet and cook for about 2-3 minutes, stirring frequently. The calamari should turn opaque and firm.
- 4
Add Basil and Seasonings
Stir in the chopped basil, salt, and black pepper. Cook for another minute to combine the flavors.
- 5
Finish with Lemon Juice
Remove the skillet from heat and drizzle the lemon juice over the calamari. Toss to coat evenly.
- 6
Serve
Transfer the sautéed calamari to a serving plate and enjoy immediately.
