Tiramisu Ingredients
Method
Tiramisu Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Coffee Mixture
Brew the espresso coffee and let it cool. Once cooled, set it aside.
- 2
Make the Mascarpone Mixture
In a mixing bowl, whisk the egg yolks and granulated sugar together until pale and creamy. Add the mascarpone cheese and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
- 3
Whip the Cream
In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until fully combined.
- 4
Assemble the Tiramisu
Dip each ladyfinger into the cooled espresso for a few seconds, allowing them to soak without becoming soggy. Layer half of the soaked ladyfingers in the bottom of a rectangular dish. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.
- 5
Repeat Layers
Repeat the process with another layer of soaked ladyfingers followed by the remaining mascarpone mixture.
- 6
Chill and Serve
Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight. Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder and add dark chocolate shavings if desired.
