Prepare the Mussels
Rinse the mussels under cold water, scrubbing the shells to remove any debris. Discard any mussels that are open and do not close when tapped.
Sauté the Garlic
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
Add Mussels and Wine
Add the cleaned mussels to the skillet. Pour in the white wine and add the salt and pepper. Stir to combine.
Cook the Mussels
Cover the skillet and increase the heat to high. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until the mussels have opened up. Discard any mussels that remain closed.
