Meatballs

Spaghetti

Marinara Sauce

Method

Meatballs

  1. 1

    Prepare the Meatball Mixture

In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix until thoroughly combined.

  2. 2

    Form the Meatballs

Shape the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter. Place meatballs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  3. 3

    Bake the Meatballs

Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F). Bake the meatballs for 20-25 minutes or until cooked through and browned.

Marinara Sauce

  1. 4

    Cook the Onion and Garlic

In a large saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and cook until translucent, about 5 minutes. Stir in minced garlic and cook for another minute.

  2. 5

    Add the Tomatoes and Seasoning

Pour in the canned crushed tomatoes, and add dried oregano, dried basil, salt, black pepper, and sugar. Stir to combine.

  3. 6

    Simmer the Sauce

Bring the sauce to a simmer and let it cook for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Spaghetti

  1. 7

    Boil the Water

In a large pot, bring 4 liters of water to a boil. Add 1 tablespoon of salt to the boiling water.

  2. 8

    Cook the Spaghetti

Add the spaghetti to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions, usually about 8-10 minutes, until al dente.

  3. 9

    Drain the Spaghetti

Once cooked, drain the spaghetti in a colander and set aside.

Combine and Serve

  1. 10

    Combine Meatballs and Sauce

Once the meatballs are cooked, add them to the marinara sauce, and gently stir to coat.

  2. 11

    Serve the Dish

Serve the spaghetti on plates, topped with the meatballs and sauce. Optionally, garnish with additional grated Parmesan cheese and chopped parsley.
