Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Clean the Mushrooms

Wipe the Portabella mushrooms with a damp cloth to remove any dirt and debris. Remove the stems and scrape out the gills using a spoon.

  2. 2

    Make the Marinade

In a bowl, combine balsamic vinegar, minced garlic cloves, fresh thyme, salt, and black pepper. Whisk together until well combined.

Marinating

  1. 3

    Marinate the Mushrooms

Place the cleaned Portabella mushrooms in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Make sure the mushrooms are well coated. Cover and let them marinate for at least 30 minutes, preferably 1-2 hours for deeper flavor.

Cooking

  1. 4

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.

  2. 5

    Grill the Mushrooms

Remove the mushrooms from the marinade, allowing excess to drip off. Brush the grill with olive oil to prevent sticking. Place the mushrooms on the grill, gill side down, and cook for about 5-7 minutes. Flip and grill for an additional 5-7 minutes or until they are tender and have nice grill marks.

Serving

  1. 6

    Garnish and Serve

Remove the grilled mushrooms from the grill and place them on a serving platter. Chop fresh parsley and sprinkle it over the top. Serve warm as a delicious appetizer or side dish.
