Pasta and Sauce
Method
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Cook the Penne Pasta
In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the penne pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 10-12 minutes. Drain and set aside.
- 2
Prepare the Sauce
In a large skillet, heat the virgin olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- 3
Add Olives and Pepperoncini
Stir in the sliced kalamata olives and pepperoncini. Cook for 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
- 4
Incorporate Capers and Marinara Sauce
Add the capers and marinara sauce to the skillet. Stir well and let simmer for about 5 minutes.
- 5
Deglaze with Wine
Pour in the white wine and stir, scraping any bits from the bottom of the pan. Allow the sauce to simmer for an additional 5 minutes until slightly thickened.
- 6
Combine Pasta and Sauce
Add the cooked penne pasta to the skillet with the sauce. Toss until the pasta is well coated.
- 7
Add Mozzarella and Serve
Remove the skillet from heat and sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the top. Stir gently to combine and serve immediately.
