Method

Preparation of Ladyfingers

  1. 1

    Soak Ladyfingers

In a shallow dish, combine the espresso and coffee liqueur. Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy. Arrange half of the soaked ladyfingers in a single layer in a 9x9 inch dish.

Making the Mascarpone Mixture

  1. 2

    Prepare Mascarpone

In a mixing bowl, beat the egg yolks with granulated sugar until pale and creamy. Add the mascarpone cheese and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.

  2. 3

    Whip Cream

In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until well combined.

Assembling the Tiramisu

  1. 4

    Layering

Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the layer of soaked ladyfingers. Repeat the process with the remaining ladyfingers, soaking them in the espresso mixture, then adding the rest of the mascarpone mixture on top.

Finishing Touches

  1. 5

    Chill and Serve

Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours (or overnight) to set. Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder and drizzle with chocolate syrup.
