Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Cook the Pasta
In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the mostaccioli pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Meat Sauce

Cook the Meat
In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon, about 5-7 minutes.

Add Tomatoes and Seasonings
Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, oregano, basil, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Ricotta Mixture

Prepare the Ricotta Mixture
In a medium bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, egg, grated Parmesan cheese, and chopped parsley. Mix until well combined.

Combine Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked mostaccioli pasta with the meat sauce. Mix well.

Layer the Dish
In a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, spread half of the pasta and meat mixture. Dollop half of the ricotta mixture on top. Repeat with the remaining pasta and ricotta mixture.

Add Mozzarella Cheese
Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the top layer.

Bake the Dish
Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. Then, remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.

Once baked, let the mostaccioli cool for 10 minutes before serving. Enjoy!
