Preparation Steps
- 1
Prepare the Mint Syrup
In a small saucepan, combine the fresh mint leaves, sugar, and 1/2 cup of water. Heat over medium heat until the sugar dissolves and the mixture is fragrant. Remove from heat and let it steep for 10 minutes.
- 2
Strain the Mint Syrup
Once the mint syrup has cooled, strain it through a fine mesh sieve into a bowl or jar to remove the mint leaves. Set aside.
- 3
Mix the Limeaid
In a large pitcher, combine the fresh lime juice, the mint syrup, and the remaining 3 1/2 cups of water. Stir well to mix.
- 4
Serve
Fill glasses with ice cubes, pour the mint limeaid over the ice, and top with sparkling water. Garnish with lime slices and mint sprigs as desired.
