Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Chop Vegetables

Finely chop the onion, celery, and garlic. Slice the mushrooms into small pieces.

  2. 2

    Toast Bread Cubes

If using fresh bread, cut it into cubes and toast in the oven at 350°F (175°C) until golden brown and slightly dry, roughly 10-15 minutes.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Sauté Vegetables

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion, celery, and garlic, and sauté for 5-7 minutes until softened.

  2. 4

    Add Mushrooms

Add the sliced mushrooms to the skillet and cook for an additional 5-7 minutes until mushrooms are tender and liquid has evaporated.

  3. 5

    Combine Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the toasted bread cubes, sautéed vegetables, vegetable broth, thyme, rosemary, salt, and pepper. Mix well to ensure all bread pieces are coated.

  4. 6

    Add Parsley

Fold in the chopped parsley for added flavor.

Baking

  1. 7

    Bake Stuffing

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Transfer the stuffing mixture into a greased baking dish and spread it evenly. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes to crisp the top.
