Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Mix Dry Ingredients
In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.

Cream Butter and Sugars
In another bowl, cream the unsalted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

Add Wet Ingredients
Beat in the vanilla extract and egg until well combined.

Combine Ingredients
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Stir in the chocolate chips.

Prepare Baking Dish
Spread the cookie dough into a greased baking dish, leaving the center slightly thicker than the edges.

Bake in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes, until the edges are golden and the center is still soft.

Allow to cool slightly. Top with scoops of vanilla ice cream and drizzle with chocolate syrup before serving.
