Pizza Dough and Toppings
Method
Preparation and Baking
Prepare Pizza Dough
In a bowl, combine warm water and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy. Add olive oil, salt, and flour gradually, mixing until a dough forms. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If you have a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat as well.
Shape the Pizza
Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface to your desired thickness. Transfer the dough to a parchment-lined baking sheet or a pizza peel if using a stone.
Add Toppings
Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the pizza base. Sprinkle mozzarella and parmesan cheese over the sauce. Distribute the sliced pepperoni and sprinkle Italian seasoning. Finally, add fresh basil leaves on top.
Bake the Pizza
Transfer the pizza to the oven (or onto the preheated stone). Bake for 12-15 minutes until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly and slightly browned.
Serve
Remove the pizza from the oven, let it cool for a few minutes, slice, and serve hot.
