Pizza Dough and Toppings
Method
Preparation and Baking
Prepare the Pizza Dough
In a large bowl, combine warm water and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy. Add olive oil and salt.
Gradually add flour, mixing until a dough forms. Knead on a lightly floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour.
Prepare the Toppings
In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, minced garlic, and a pinch of black pepper. Mix well.
Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C) and place a pizza stone inside if you have one.
Assemble the Pizza
After the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface to your desired thickness. Spread the ricotta mixture evenly over the dough, then top with shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese.
Sprinkle fresh basil leaves on top.
Bake the Pizza
Transfer the pizza to the preheated pizza stone or baking sheet. Bake for 12-15 minutes until the crust is golden and cheese is bubbly.
Remove from the oven, let it cool for a few minutes, slice, and serve hot.
