Method

Bread Preparation

  1. 1

    Activate the Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water (about 110°F or 43°C) with sugar and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.

  2. 2

    Mix Dough

In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Create a well in the center and pour in the activated yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.

  3. 3

    Knead the Dough

Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  4. 4

    First Rise

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-2 hours or until doubled in size.

  5. 5

    Shape the Loaf

Once risen, punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf. Place it in a greased loaf pan.

  6. 6

    Second Rise

Cover the shaped dough with a towel and let it rise again for about 30-45 minutes.

  7. 7

    Bake the Bread

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the loaf for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.

Filling Preparation

  1. 8

    Prepare the Filling

In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken, cream cheese, chopped spinach, minced garlic, cheddar cheese, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

  2. 9

    Assemble the Loaf

Once the bread has cooled slightly, slice the top off the loaf and hollow out a bit of the inside to create space for the filling.

  3. 10

    Fill the Loaf

Spoon the filling mixture into the hollowed-out loaf, packing it in gently.

  4. 11

    Final Bake

Place the filled loaf back in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for 15-20 minutes, until the filling is heated through and the top is slightly golden.

  5. 12

    Serve

Let the loaf cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving warm.
