Ingredients for Rigatoni Bolognese

Method

Cooking Directions

  1. 1

    Cook the Pasta

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the rigatoni pasta and cook according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Sauce

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onions, carrot, and celery. Sauté for about 5 minutes until softened.

  3. 3

    Add Meat

Add the ground beef and ground pork to the skillet. Cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned and cooked through.

  4. 4

    Incorporate Garlic and Tomatoes

Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another minute. Then add the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, red wine, salt, pepper, oregano, and basil. Stir well to combine.

  5. 5

    Simmer the Sauce

Bring the sauce to a simmer, then reduce the heat to low. Let it cook for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally until thickened.

  6. 6

    Combine Pasta and Sauce

Add the cooked rigatoni to the sauce and toss to coat evenly.

  7. 7

    Serve

Serve hot, garnished with grated Parmesan cheese.
