Method
Cooking Directions
- 1
Prepare the Meatballs
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, egg, Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined.
- 2
Shape the Meatballs
Form the mixture into meatballs about 1.5 inches in diameter.
- 3
Cook the Meatballs
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add meatballs and cook until browned on all sides, about 8-10 minutes.
- 4
Add Marinara Sauce
Pour marinara sauce over the meatballs in the skillet. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 15-20 minutes, until meatballs are cooked through.
- 5
Cook the Penne Pasta
While meatballs are simmering, cook penne pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- 6
Combine and Serve
Toss the cooked penne pasta with the marinara sauce and meatballs. Serve hot, garnished with additional Parmesan cheese if desired.
