Marinara Sauce Ingredients

Method

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Sauté Garlic

In a large saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes. Be careful not to burn the garlic.

  2. 2

    Add Tomatoes

Pour in the canned whole tomatoes, including their juices. Use a wooden spoon to break the tomatoes into smaller pieces.

  3. 3

    Season the Sauce

Stir in the chopped basil, salt, black pepper, red pepper flakes, and sugar. Bring the sauce to a simmer.

  4. 4

    Simmer

Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer for about 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally. The sauce will thicken and the flavors will meld together.

  5. 5

    Serve

Taste the sauce and adjust the seasoning if necessary. Serve hot over your favorite pasta or use as desired.
