Meatballs and Sliders

Method

Preparation and Cooking

  1. 1

    Make the Meatballs

In a large mixing bowl, combine the andouille sausage, ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, minced garlic, egg, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined. Form into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.

  2. 2

    Cook the Meatballs

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Place the meatballs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for about 20-25 minutes, or until they are cooked through and browned.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Sliders

While the meatballs are baking, prepare the garlic knots. If using store-bought, heat them according to package instructions. If making homemade, use your favorite garlic knot recipe.

  4. 4

    Assemble the Sliders

Once the meatballs are cooked, slice the garlic knots in half horizontally. Place 1-2 meatballs on the bottom half of each garlic knot, spoon marinara sauce over the meatballs, and top with a slice of fresh mozzarella.

  5. 5

    Melt the Cheese

Place the assembled sliders back in the oven for an additional 5-10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  6. 6

    Serve

Remove from the oven, place the top half of the garlic knots on the sliders, and serve warm with extra marinara sauce on the side.
