Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prep the Ingredients

Gather all your ingredients. If using optional veggies or meat, chop them to bite-sized pieces.

Cooking

  1. 2

    Whisk the Eggs

In a mixing bowl, crack the local eggs and add salt and black pepper. Whisk until well combined and slightly frothy.

  2. 3

    Heat the Pan

Place a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add butter. Allow it to melt and coat the skillet.

  3. 4

    Add Optional Ingredients

If using optional veggies or meat, add them to the skillet once the butter is melted. Sauté for about 2-3 minutes until softened.

  4. 5

    Pour in the Eggs

Pour the whisked eggs into the skillet, ensuring they evenly cover the bottom. Reduce the heat to low.

  5. 6

    Add Cheese

Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top of the eggs.

  6. 7

    Cook the Omelet

Cook for about 3-4 minutes, or until the edges start to set. Use a spatula to gently lift the edges and allow any uncooked eggs to flow underneath.

  7. 8

    Fold and Serve

Once the omelet is fully set and cheese is melted, gently fold it in half using a spatula. Slide it onto a plate and serve with a slice of toast.
