Main Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. 2

    Prepare Baking Sheet

Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil for easy cleanup. Place a wire rack on top of the baking sheet.

  3. 3

    Mix Brown Sugar and Spices

In a medium bowl, combine the brown sugar and ground black pepper, mixing well to create a spice blend.

  4. 4

    Coat Bacon with Bourbon

In a separate bowl, pour the bourbon. Dip each piece of bacon into the bourbon, ensuring it is well coated.

  5. 5

    Apply Sugar Mixture

Remove bacon from the bourbon and let excess liquid drip off. Then, press each piece of bacon into the brown sugar mixture, coating both sides generously.

Cooking

  1. 6

    Arrange Bacon on Rack

Place the coated bacon strips on the wire rack, ensuring they do not touch each other.

  2. 7

    Bake Bacon

Bake the bacon in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until it is crispy and caramelized. Keep an eye on it to prevent burning.

  3. 8

    Remove and Cool

Once done, remove the bacon from the oven and let it cool on the wire rack for a few minutes. The bacon will continue to harden as it cools.

  4. 9

    Serve

Serve the candied bacon warm, drizzled with pure NH maple syrup for dipping or drizzling.
