Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill to medium heat, about 350°F (175°C). If using a stovetop grill pan, make sure it is hot before adding the biscuits.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Whisk together until evenly mixed.

  3. 3

    Prepare Wet Ingredients

In a separate bowl, melt the unsalted butter and let it cool slightly. Then, add the buttermilk to the melted butter and mix well until combined.

Biscuit Making

  1. 4

    Combine Ingredients

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir gently with a spatula until just combined; do not overmix. The batter should be slightly lumpy.

  2. 5

    Drop the Dough

Using a spoon or ice cream scoop, drop generous spoonfuls of the biscuit dough onto the grill or grill pan, leaving space between each one to allow for spreading.

  3. 6

    Cook the Biscuits

Cover the grill with a lid and cook for about 10-12 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown on the bottom. Flip them carefully and cook for an additional 5-8 minutes on the other side.

  4. 7

    Check for Doneness

The biscuits are done when they are golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Remove from the grill and let them cool slightly before serving.
