Apple Caramel French Toast Recipe

For the Apple Caramel Tea Bread

Preheat and Prepare
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.

Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, salt, and ground cinnamon.

Add Apples and Caramel
Fold in the diced apples and caramel sauce until evenly distributed. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.

Bake
Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow to cool before slicing.
For the French Toast

Prepare French Toast Batter
In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and sugar until well combined.

Slice the Tea Bread
Slice the cooled apple caramel tea bread into 1-inch thick slices.

Dip and Grill
Preheat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Dip each slice of tea bread into the batter, ensuring both sides are coated. Grill in the skillet for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown.

Cook Apples
In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the sliced Fuji apples and brown sugar, cooking for about 5-7 minutes or until the apples are tender and caramelized.
For Serving

Plate the French Toast
On a serving plate, stack the grilled French toast, top with the grilled apples, and drizzle with additional caramel sauce if desired.

Dust with powdered sugar, add a dollop of whipped cream, and serve with pure maple syrup on the side.
