Pizza Dough and Toppings

Method

Preparation and Cooking

  1. 1

    Prepare the Dough

In a bowl, combine warm water and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until foamy.

  2. 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.

  3. 3

Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  4. 4

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

  5. 5

    Preheat and Prepare Toppings

Preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C). Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out to your desired thickness.

  6. 6

Transfer the rolled-out dough onto a pizza stone or baking sheet.

  7. 7

Spread the artichoke hearts evenly over the dough, then sprinkle with shredded mozzarella cheese.

  8. 8

    Add the Egg

Make a small well in the center of the pizza and crack the egg into it.

  9. 9

Season with black pepper and place a few fresh basil leaves on top.

  10. 10

    Bake the Pizza

Bake in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the egg is cooked to your liking.

  11. 11

Remove from the oven, let it cool slightly, slice, and serve warm.
