1. Fry the Calamari
In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the calamari and fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes. Remove and set aside.
2. Prepare the Sauce
In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil. Add the minced garlic and red chili flakes, sautéing for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
3. Combine Ingredients
Add the crushed San Marzano tomatoes and vinegar peppers to the skillet. Season with salt and black pepper. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes.
4. Finish the Dish
Return the fried calamari to the skillet and toss gently in the sauce. Cook for an additional 2 minutes until heated through.
5. Serve
Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot.
