Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Clean the Clams

Rinse the clams under cold water to remove any sand or grit. Soak them in salt water for 20 minutes to help expel any remaining sand.

  2. 2

    Make the White Sauce

In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the flour and whisk until smooth. Gradually add the milk while whisking continuously until the sauce thickens. Season with salt and black pepper, then remove from heat.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Topping

In a bowl, combine breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan, minced garlic, chopped parsley, and olive oil. Mix well until the breadcrumbs are evenly coated.

Baking

  1. 4

    Assemble the Clams

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the cleaned clams in a baking dish. Spoon a little white sauce over each clam, then top generously with the breadcrumb mixture.

  2. 5

    Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and crispy.

  3. 6

    Serve

Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy your baked clams warm!
