Method

Burger Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the special sauce

In a bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, ketchup, Dijon mustard, finely chopped pickles, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Set aside.

  2. 2

    Cook the bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until crispy. Remove from the skillet and let it drain on paper towels.

  3. 3

    Caramelize the onions

In the same skillet, add the sliced onions and cook over medium heat until they are soft and translucent. Pour in the Cabernet Sauvignon and stir, allowing the liquid to reduce and the onions to caramelize. This should take about 10-15 minutes.

  4. 4

Form and cook the burger patties

In a bowl, combine ground beef with salt and black pepper. Form into two equal patties. In the same skillet used for the bacon and onions, cook the patties over medium-high heat for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip the burgers and place a slice of white cheddar cheese on each patty. Cook for another 4-5 minutes for medium doneness.

  5. 5

    Fry the eggs

In a separate non-stick skillet, fry the free-range eggs over-easy until the whites are set but the yolk is still runny.

  6. 6

    Assemble the burgers

Toast the brioche buns if desired. On each bottom bun, spread a generous amount of special sauce, then add the burger patty with melted cheese, bacon, caramelized onions, and top with a fried egg. Place the top bun on and serve immediately.
