Method
Preparation
- 1
Marinate the Chicken
In a bowl, combine buttermilk, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Add the chicken breasts and marinate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight.
- 2
Prepare the Dredging Station
In a shallow dish, place the flour mixed with a pinch of salt and pepper. Set aside.
- 3
Fry the Chicken
Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet over medium-high heat. Remove chicken from marinade, allowing excess to drip off. Dredge in the flour mixture, then carefully place in the hot oil. Fry for about 6-7 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and drain on paper towels.
Assembly
- 4
Assemble the Sandwich
On the bottom half of the hamburger buns, place the fried chicken, top with house-made pickles and a generous amount of awesome sauce. Cover with the top half of the bun.
- 5
Prepare the Salad
For the kale salad, massage the kale with olive oil, lemon juice, and salt until tender. Serve alongside the sandwich. For the simple green salad, toss mixed greens with balsamic vinaigrette.
