Method

Prep

1

Prepare ingredients

Peel and dice the mango so you have about 1 cup of mango flesh. Slice the banana. Wash and lightly pat dry the spinach. If you haven't already, juice fresh oranges and carrots so you have 1 cup of each. Chill the yogurt beforehand if possible.

2

If you prefer a colder or thicker smoothie, measure out the ice and set aside. Prepare optional garnishes (mint sprigs, orange slice, carrot ribbon).

Blend

3

Combine and blend

In a high-speed blender, add the orange juice and carrot juice first (this helps liquid flow), then add the yogurt. Next add the mango, banana, and packed spinach. Add the optional lime juice and honey/agave if using. Add ice if you want a thicker chilled texture.

4

Secure the lid and blend on medium-high for 45–60 seconds, or until completely smooth and homogenous. Stop and scrape down the sides once or twice with a spatula to ensure even blending. If the smoothie is too thick, add up to 1/4 cup more orange or carrot juice and blend again; if too thin, add a few more ice cubes or a small piece of frozen banana and blend until desired consistency.

Serve

5

Taste and adjust

Taste the smoothie and adjust sweetness or acidity: add more honey/agave for sweetness or a squeeze more lime juice to brighten. Blend briefly (5–10 seconds) after adjusting.

6

Pour the Citrus Sensation into two glasses (or one large glass). Garnish with a mint sprig and an orange slice or carrot ribbon if desired. Serve immediately for best flavor and texture.
