Method

Meatballs Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine ground beef, bread crumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, parsley, minced garlic, egg, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

  2. 2

    Form Meatballs

Shape the mixture into 5 equal-sized meatballs.

  3. 3

    Cook Meatballs

In a skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and cook the meatballs until browned on all sides, about 10 minutes. Set aside.

Marinara Sauce Preparation

  1. 4

    Sauté Vegetables

In the same skillet, add olive oil and diced onion. Sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes. Add minced garlic and cook for another minute.

  2. 5

    Add Tomatoes

Stir in crushed tomatoes, dried basil, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for 15-20 minutes.

  3. 6

    Combine Sauce and Meatballs

Add the cooked meatballs to the marinara sauce and simmer for an additional 10 minutes.

Balsamic Reduction Preparation

  1. 7

    Reduce Balsamic Vinegar

In a small saucepan, bring balsamic vinegar to a boil, then reduce to a simmer. Cook until reduced by half, about 15 minutes.

Focaccia Preparation

  1. 8

    Prepare Focaccia

Brush focaccia bread with olive oil and sprinkle with chopped rosemary. Grill until heated through and slightly crispy.

Assembly

  1. 9

    Serve

Place meatballs in marinara sauce on a plate. Drizzle with balsamic reduction, top with shaved Parmesan cheese and fresh basil. Serve with grilled rosemary focaccia on the side.
