Cook the Fettuccini
In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the fettuccini noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Make the Alfredo Sauce
In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring frequently.

Combine Pasta and Sauce
Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese, salt, and black pepper into the sauce. Continue to cook until the cheese has melted and the sauce is smooth. Add the cooked fettuccini noodles to the sauce and toss until well coated.

Serve
Plate the fettuccini Alfredo and top with additional Parmesan cheese if desired. Serve with warm breadsticks on the side.
