Prepare the Waffle Batter

Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large bowl, whisk together the cornmeal, all-purpose flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.

Combine Ingredients
Combine the wet and dry ingredients until just mixed. Fold in the shredded cheddar cheese and crumbled bacon.
Cook the Chicken Tenders

Season Chicken
Season the chicken tenders with salt and pepper.

Dredge Chicken
Dredge each chicken tender in flour, dip in egg, and coat with breadcrumbs.

Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Fry the chicken tenders for about 5-7 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.
Make Butter Pecan Syrup

Melt Butter and Combine
In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in brown sugar and maple syrup, bringing to a simmer.

Add chopped pecans and vanilla extract. Simmer for 5-10 minutes until thickened.

Preheat the waffle iron according to its instructions.
