Omelet Ingredients

Method

Cooking Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Filling

In a skillet over medium heat, melt half the butter. Add the diced onion and green bell pepper, and sauté until softened, about 3-4 minutes. Add the diced ham and cook for another 2-3 minutes until heated through. Remove from heat and set aside.

  2. 2

    Whisk the Eggs

In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, salt, and pepper until well combined.

  3. 3

    Cook the Omelet

In the same skillet, add the remaining butter and heat over medium-high heat. Pour in the egg mixture, tilting the pan to spread it evenly. Cook for 2-3 minutes, or until the edges begin to set.

  4. 4

    Add the Filling

Once the edges of the omelet have set, carefully spoon the sautéed ham, onion, and green pepper mixture onto one half of the omelet. Sprinkle shredded cheese on top of the filling.

  5. 5

    Fold and Serve

Using a spatula, gently fold the other half of the omelet over the filling. Cook for another 1-2 minutes until the cheese melts. Slide the omelet onto a plate and serve immediately.
