Preparation

  1. 1

    Slice the Steak

Thinly slice the ribeye steak against the grain into strips.

  2. 2

    Chop the Vegetables

Dice the onion and bell pepper. Mince the garlic.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Sauté Vegetables

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onions and bell peppers. Sauté for about 3-4 minutes until they begin to soften. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute.

  2. 4

    Cook the Steak

Increase the heat to medium-high and add the sliced steak to the skillet. Season with salt and black pepper. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring frequently, until the steak is browned and cooked to your desired doneness.

  3. 5

    Melt the Cheese

Once the steak is cooked, reduce the heat to low and place the provolone cheese slices over the steak mixture. Cover the skillet for 2-3 minutes until the cheese is melted.

Assembly

  1. 6

    Prepare the Base

If using sub rolls, slice them open lengthwise. If using cauliflower rice or romaine lettuce, prepare them as a base in a bowl or plate.

  2. 7

    Serve

Spoon the steak and cheese mixture into the sub roll or over the cauliflower rice or romaine lettuce. Serve immediately and enjoy!
