Preparation Steps
- 1
Cook the Ground Beef
In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks.
- 2
Add Taco Seasoning
Once the beef is cooked through, drain any excess fat. Stir in the taco seasoning and a splash of water (about 1/4 cup). Simmer for 5 minutes until the mixture thickens.
- 3
Prepare Taco Shells
While the beef is simmering, preheat the oven according to the taco shell package instructions. Arrange the taco shells on a baking sheet and heat them in the oven for about 5-7 minutes until they are crispy.
- 4
Prepare Taco Toppings
While the taco shells are heating, chop the lettuce, dice the tomatoes, and slice the avocado. Set aside.
- 5
Assemble Tacos
Once the taco shells are ready, fill each shell with the seasoned beef. Top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, shredded cheddar cheese, a dollop of sour cream, a spoonful of salsa, and slices of avocado.
- 6
Serve
Serve the tacos immediately while warm, along with extra salsa and sour cream on the side.
