Method

Preparing the Waffle Batter

  1. 1

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt. Whisk together until evenly mixed.

  2. 2

    Combine Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, beat the eggs and then add the milk, melted unsalted butter, and vanilla extract. Mix well until combined.

  3. 3

    Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Gently stir until just combined; do not overmix. The batter should be slightly lumpy.

Cooking the Waffles

  1. 4

    Preheat Waffle Iron

Preheat your Belgian waffle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions.

  2. 5

    Cook the Waffles

Once the waffle iron is hot, lightly grease it with cooking spray or a small amount of melted butter. Pour the recommended amount of batter (usually about 1 cup) into the center of the waffle iron. Close the lid and cook according to the manufacturer's instructions, usually for about 5 minutes, or until the waffles are golden brown and crispy.

  3. 6

    Repeat

Remove the waffles carefully and repeat the process with the remaining batter.

Serving the Waffles

  1. 7

    Prepare the Toppings

Slice the bananas and wash the strawberries and blueberries.

  2. 8

    Assemble the Waffles

Place each waffle on a serving plate. Top with sliced bananas, strawberries, and blueberries. Add a generous dollop of whipped cream on top.

  3. 9

    Finish and Serve

Dust the topped waffles with powdered sugar. Serve with whipped butter and maple syrup on the side for drizzling.
