Directions
1. Prepare the Coffee Pot
In a small coffee pot (cezve), combine the finely ground Turkish coffee and water.
2. Add Sugar and Spices
If desired, add sugar and cardamom to the coffee and stir well to combine.
3. Heat the Mixture
Place the coffee pot on low heat and allow the coffee to heat slowly. Do not stir once it starts heating.
4. Watch for Foam
As the coffee heats, foam will begin to form. Watch closely to prevent it from boiling over.
5. Remove from Heat
Just before it begins to boil, remove the coffee pot from the heat and let it sit for a few seconds.
6. Pour and Serve
Carefully pour the coffee into small cups, allowing the foam to come to the top. Let it settle for a moment before serving.
