Fried Dill Pickles
Method
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Dipping Sauce
In a small bowl, combine 1 cup of mayonnaise, 2 tablespoons of Cajun seasoning, and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice. Mix well and refrigerate until ready to serve.
- 2
Prepare the Breading Station
In one bowl, combine flour, cornmeal, Cajun seasoning, salt, and black pepper. In another bowl, pour in buttermilk and beaten eggs.
- 3
Coat the Pickles
Dip each pickle slice into the buttermilk mixture, allowing excess to drip off, then dredge in the flour mixture until fully coated.
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a large frying pan or deep fryer, heat oil to 350°F (175°C).
- 5
Fry the Pickles
Fry the coated pickle slices in batches for about 3-4 minutes, or until golden brown. Remove with a slotted spoon and place on paper towels to drain.
- 6
Serve
Serve the fried dill pickles hot with the Cajun dipping sauce on the side.
