Method

Chicken Preparation

  1. 1

    Marinate the Chicken

Place the chicken thighs in a bowl and cover with buttermilk. Let them marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour or overnight.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Breading

In a separate bowl, combine flour, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.

  3. 3

    Fry the Chicken

Heat oil in a deep frying pan to 350°F (175°C). Remove chicken from buttermilk, dredge in the flour mixture, and fry until golden brown and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.

Waffle Preparation

  1. 4

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.

  2. 5

    Combine Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, beat together eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and melted butter.

  3. 6

    Make the Waffle Batter

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.

  4. 7

    Cook the Waffles

Preheat your waffle iron and pour the batter according to the manufacturer's instructions. Cook until golden brown.

Maple Rosemary Butter Preparation

  1. 8

    Prepare the Butter

In a small bowl, mix the softened butter with maple syrup and chopped rosemary until well combined.

Assembly

  1. 9

    Serve

Place a waffle on a plate, top with fried chicken, and drizzle with maple rosemary butter. Enjoy!
