Braised Greens Ingredients

Method

Braised Greens Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Greens

Wash the kale or Swiss chard thoroughly. Remove the tough stems and chop the leaves coarsely.

  2. 2

    Sauté Garlic

In a large skillet or pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.

  3. 3

    Add Greens

Add the chopped greens to the skillet, stirring well to coat with the garlic and oil.

  4. 4

    Add Liquid and Simmer

Pour in the vegetable broth (or water) and add red pepper flakes. Bring to a simmer, cover, and cook for about 10-15 minutes until the greens are tender.

  5. 5

    Season and Serve

Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Drizzle with lemon juice before serving.
