Method

Cooking the Pasta

  1. 1

    Boil Water

Fill a large pot with water and bring it to a rolling boil over high heat.

  2. 2

    Add Salt

Once the water is boiling, add 1 tablespoon of salt to the water to enhance the flavor of the pasta.

  3. 3

    Cook Pasta

Add 200 grams of pasta to the boiling water. Stir occasionally and cook according to the package instructions, usually around 8-10 minutes, until al dente.

  4. 4

    Drain Pasta

Once cooked, drain the pasta in a colander and drizzle 1 tablespoon of olive oil over it to prevent sticking. Toss gently to coat.

Making the Sauce

  1. 5

    Prep Garlic

While the pasta is cooking, peel and finely chop 3 cloves of garlic.

  2. 6

    Cook Garlic

In a large skillet, heat a little olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant but not browned.

  3. 7

    Add Tomatoes

Pour in 400 grams of canned tomatoes, along with their juices, into the skillet. Stir to combine with the garlic.

  4. 8

    Season Sauce

Add 1 tablespoon of basil, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1 teaspoon of black pepper. Stir well and let the sauce simmer for about 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.

  5. 9

    Combine Pasta and Sauce

Add the cooked pasta to the sauce in the skillet. Toss everything together until the pasta is well coated with the sauce.

  6. 10

    Serve

Plate the pasta and top with grated Parmesan cheese. Serve warm.
