Panna Cotta Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Gelatin
In a small bowl, sprinkle the powdered gelatin over 2 tablespoons of water. Allow it to sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes soft and sponge-like.
- 2
Heat the Cream Mixture
In a medium saucepan, combine the heavy cream, whole milk, and granulated sugar. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the mixture is hot but not boiling.
- 3
Add Gelatin
Once the cream mixture is hot, remove it from heat. Add the softened gelatin and vanilla extract, stirring continuously until the gelatin has completely dissolved.
- 4
Pour into Molds
Pour the mixture into individual serving cups or molds. Allow them to cool to room temperature.
- 5
Chill
Cover the cups with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or until set.
