Cooking the Pork

Prepare the Pork
Season the pork shoulder with salt, black pepper, and cumin. Place it in a slow cooker.

Add minced garlic, chopped onion, and chicken broth to the slow cooker.

Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or until the pork is tender and easily shredded.

Remove the husks from the tomatillos and rinse them under water.

In a saucepan, bring water to a boil. Add rice and salt, then reduce heat to low and cover. Cook for 18-20 minutes, or until rice is tender.
