Filet Mignon

Method

Preparation and Cooking

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Remove the filet mignon from the refrigerator and allow it to come to room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Rub the filet mignon with olive oil, then season generously with kosher salt, black pepper, and garlic powder on both sides.

  3. 3

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill to high heat, around 450°F (232°C). If using a grill pan, heat it over medium-high heat on the stovetop.

  4. 4

    Grill the Steak

Place the seasoned filet mignon on the grill. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side without moving it to get a good sear.

  5. 5

    Flip the Steak

Flip the filet mignon and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes for medium-rare, or until it reaches your desired level of doneness.

  6. 6

    Add Butter and Rosemary

During the last minute of grilling, add butter and fresh rosemary on top of the steak to enhance the flavor.

  7. 7

    Rest the Steak

Once cooked, remove the filet mignon from the grill and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing to allow the juices to redistribute.

  8. 8

    Serve

Slice the filet mignon and serve it hot. Enjoy your perfectly seasoned and grilled filet mignon!
