Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Chicken
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Season the chicken breasts with salt and black pepper on both sides.
- 2
Bread the Chicken
Set up a breading station with three shallow bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with breadcrumbs. Dredge each chicken breast in flour, shaking off the excess. Dip into the beaten eggs, then coat with breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere.
Cooking
- 3
Fry the Chicken
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Once hot, add the breaded chicken breasts and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, until golden brown and cooked through. Transfer the chicken to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
- 4
Add Toppings
In a baking dish, place the fried chicken breasts. Pour marinara sauce evenly over the chicken, then sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top. Finish with a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese.
- 5
Bake
Bake in the preheated oven for about 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- 6
Garnish and Serve
Remove from the oven and sprinkle with fresh basil. Serve hot with pasta or a side salad.
