Method

Crostini Preparation

  1. 1

    Slice and Toast the Baguette

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Slice the baguette into 1/2-inch thick slices. Arrange the slices on a baking sheet.

  2. 2

    Drizzle with Olive Oil

Drizzle the olive oil over the baguette slices, ensuring they are lightly coated.

  3. 3

    Bake the Crostini

Bake in the preheated oven for about 8-10 minutes, or until golden and crispy. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly.

Whipped Ricotta Preparation

  1. 4

    Whip the Ricotta

In a mixing bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, honey, lemon zest, and fennel pollen. Using a hand mixer or a whisk, whip the mixture until smooth and creamy.

  2. 5

    Season the Whipped Ricotta

Taste the whipped ricotta and season with Sicilian sea salt and black pepper to your liking. Mix again to incorporate.

Assembly

  1. 6

    Top the Crostini

Spread a generous amount of whipped ricotta on each toasted baguette slice.

  2. 7

    Serve

Arrange the crostini on a serving platter and serve immediately as an appetizer or snack.
