Veal Chops

Method

Veal Chops Preparation

  1. 1

    Season the Veal Chops

Pat the veal chops dry with paper towels. Season both sides generously with salt and black pepper.

  2. 2

    Sear the Veal Chops

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the veal chops and sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side until browned. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

Red Sauce Preparation

  1. 3

    Sauté Garlic

In the same skillet, add 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

  2. 4

    Make the Sauce

Add the canned crushed tomatoes, oregano, basil, sugar, salt, and black pepper to the skillet. Stir well to combine and let the sauce simmer for about 15-20 minutes.

Assemble and Bake

  1. 5

    Combine Chops and Sauce

Return the seared veal chops to the skillet, spooning the sauce over the top to coat. Sprinkle the mozzarella and Parmesan cheese over the chops.

  2. 6

    Bake

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the internal temperature of the veal reaches 145°F (63°C).

  3. 7

    Garnish and Serve

Remove from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
