Cooking Base

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Clean the Mussels

Rinse the mussels under cold water, scrubbing the shells with a brush to remove any dirt. Remove the beards by pulling them away from the shell.

  2. 2

    Prepare Ingredients

Mince the garlic and chop the parsley. Set aside.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Heat the Olive Oil

In a large skillet over medium heat, add 3 tablespoons of olive oil. Allow it to heat for about 1-2 minutes.

  2. 4

    Sauté Garlic

Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 1 minute, until fragrant but not browned.

  3. 5

    Add Mussels and Sea Salt

Carefully add the cleaned mussels to the skillet. Sprinkle with 1 teaspoon of sea salt.

  4. 6

    Cover and Cook

Cover the skillet with a lid and cook for about 5-7 minutes. Shake the skillet occasionally to help the mussels cook evenly.

  5. 7

    Check for Doneness

After 5-7 minutes, check the mussels. They should be open. Discard any that remain closed.

  6. 8

    Garnish and Serve

Remove the skillet from heat. Sprinkle chopped parsley over the mussels and serve with lemon wedges on the side.
