Meatballs
- 1
Prepare the Meatball Mixture
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, ricotta cheese, parmesan cheese, parsley, minced garlic, egg, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined.
- 2
Form the Meatballs
Using your hands, form the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- 3
Bake the Meatballs
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Bake the meatballs for 20-25 minutes or until browned and cooked through.

Add the Tomatoes and Seasonings
Stir in the crushed tomatoes, oregano, basil, salt, black pepper, and sugar. Bring to a simmer.
- 6
Simmer the Sauce
Let the sauce simmer on low heat for about 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- 7
Combine with Meatballs
Once the meatballs are done baking, gently add them to the sauce and let them simmer together for an additional 10 minutes.
Focaccia
- 8
Prepare the Dough
In a bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm water and let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt.
- 9
Knead the Dough
Add the yeast mixture and 1 tablespoon of olive oil to the flour mixture. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
- 10
Let the Dough Rise
Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- 11
Shape and Bake the Focaccia
Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Once risen, press the dough into a greased baking sheet. Dimple the surface with your fingers and sprinkle with chopped rosemary. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
