Method
Preparation
- 1
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
- 2
Mix Dry Ingredients
In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt until well combined. Set aside.
- 3
Cream Butter and Sugars
In a large mixing bowl, beat the unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together with an electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
- 4
Add Eggs and Vanilla
Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then, mix in the vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
- 5
Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- 6
Fold in Chocolate Chips
Using a spatula, fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
Baking
- 7
Scoop the Dough
Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- 8
Bake Cookies
Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown, but the centers are still soft.
- 9
Cool Cookies
Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
