Chicken Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Chicken
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides.
- 2
Breading Station
Set up a breading station with three shallow dishes: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with a mixture of breadcrumbs and grated Parmesan cheese.
- 3
Bread the Chicken
Dredge each chicken breast in flour, shaking off the excess. Dip it into the beaten eggs, and finally coat it with the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to adhere.
- 4
Cook the Chicken
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the breaded chicken breasts and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
Assembly
- 5
Assemble the Dish
In a baking dish, spread half of the marinara sauce on the bottom. Place the cooked chicken breasts on top of the sauce.
- 6
Add Toppings
Spoon the remaining marinara sauce over the chicken, then sprinkle with shredded mozzarella cheese.
Baking
- 7
Bake
Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- 8
Garnish and Serve
Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving.
